The UK’s accountancy profession has launched the ‘Access Accountancy’ scheme, a new social mobility initiative, this week.
Various professional bodies and accountancy firms have collaborated, with the aim of providing more opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the UK.
KPMG were the first to initiate the scheme along with the ICAEW. Marianne Fallon, Head of Corporate Affairs at KPMG, said: “We want the accountancy profession to reflect the society it serves. Access Accountancy is about opening the door to anyone who has the potential, the talent and the desire to succeed, whatever their background.”
