Global accounting, auditing and consulting group Mazars will be launching a drive to double its business in Scotland and build turnover to £10 million in two years.

After recently acquiring eight partners from RSM Tenon’s former Edinburgh office, Peter Jibson, who leads the firm in Scotland, has told the Herald Scotland of his ambitious plans for 16 new hires joining in the New Year with further recruitment to follow.

A major accountancy firm in Scotland

‘This is the start of something, not the end,’ Jibson said. ‘We’re setting ourselves a target of £10 million turnover within two years.’

‘We will then have a significant presence in Scotland and will be looking to continue that growth. We want to be a major player in Scotland.’

A French-owned multinational with global revenues of over €1 billion, Mazars competes for Scottish market share with other mid-tier firms, including Grant Thornton, BDO and Saffery Champness, as well as smaller well-established independents such as Johnston Carmichael  and Scott-Moncrieff.
