Employer branding specialist Universum has announced the results of its 2011 pan-European employer image survey, revealing a two-horse race between Apple and Google for the title of ‘Europe’s most attractive graduate employer’.
Based on over 60,000 employer evaluations by nearly 20,000 students at 100 leading European academic institutions, the results see Apple ranked highest among business students, with Google reaching the top spot for students of engineering, IT, natural sciences and the humanities.
Other highly ranked graduate employers include PwC (ninth for business students) and IBM (fourth for IT; ninth for humanities).
Universum also summarised the priorities of ‘Europe’s most exclusive group of university students’ when selecting their preferred graduate employers. Good reputation was paramount (72%), followed by market success (70%) and prestige (66%), with factors such as corporate social responsibility (33%) and high ethical standards (30%) thought to have lesser importance.
