Nine out of ten software companies plan to recruit in 2013, according to a new report.
The study from Silicon Valley Bank also found that 87% of technology startups intend to hire new staff in 2013.
Participating companies reported that they wanted employees that could pair business acumen with their science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) skills.
However, nine out of ten also described having difficulty in finding candidates with these skills, reaffirming recent reports about the rising availability of STEM graduate jobs in the UK.
Greg Becker, President and CEO of Silicon Valley Banks, said: ‘Tech companies are a bright spot in the economy worldwide, which is evident from the significant number of startups in the US and the UK that expect to grow and hire this year’.
