A recent survey by an online recruitment company asked participants whether they considered their Linked profile to be more important than their CV.
It was found that 53% of respondents believed their CV to be of more use in securing a job.
The opposing 47% tended to come from industries in which LinkedIn is more utilised in the recruitment process. Those seeking careers in IT, or careers in engineering, place greater importance in the social networking site.
LinkedIn is currently more favoured by those employed at management level or above. As yet, it remains underutilised among those seeking graduate jobs.
On top of our LinkedIn company profile, Inside Careers currently hosts two specialist groups for students and graduates.
The LinkedIn group for actuaries contains details of actuarial internships, jobs and career advice, while the LinkedIn group for patent attorneys features similar posts for those interested in a patent career.
