Renewable energy could fully power a large electric grid 99.9 per cent of the time by 2030.
Research carried out by the University of Delaware suggests that a combination of wind and solar power could nearly always exceed electricity demands while keeping costs level with current electricity expenses.
One of the new findings from the study is that a large electric system can be run almost entirely on renewable power sources.
The study helps us to see what an electric system could look like in the future with complete reliance on renewable energy and the use of power storage.
