According to analysts the US have had their biggest ever online shopping sales on the day known as Cyber Monday.
Cyber Monday is the Monday after Thanksgiving which is considered to be the time when American’s start shopping for the festive period.
Figures have suggested that the internet shopping spend on Cyber Monday is up between 20-27% on last year.
Research firm Comscore say internet shopping rose by a quarter on Black Friday last week to break the $1bn mark for the first time, while it was up by a third on Thanksgiving itself.
According to retailers there was also a jump in consumer spending this Thanksgiving weekend compared with last year.
A record 247 million people visited stores and websites between Thursday and Sunday, spending a total of $59.1bn, 13% more than last year, the National Retail Federation (NRF) said.
